The quarter final line up for this year’s Merseyside Open is now complete after the lower half of the draw was played at Scotties over the weekend.
Josh Mulholland continued his recent rich vein of form as he reached the last eight by beating Peter Stanley (3-1) followed a brilliant performance beating the current Formby Open champion John Porter (4-2) which included breaks of 63,70,75 and 98. Josh will now face Adam Brown who beat Mikey Roberts (3-0) and Chris Connelly (4-2).
Roy Bennett enjoyed a good day’s work as reached the quarter finals by beating Dave Holcroft (3-0) followed by Ian Jones (3-1) and Mark Richardson (4-1) and he will now play Jamie Jones in the last eight in a fortnights time. Jamie beat Dean Hulme (3-1), Mark Daugherty (3-0) and then Neal Jones (4-2), with Neal hitting a superb break of 106 which is now the current highest break.
