2023 looks to be a very busy and exciting year ahead.

We begin the new year with the Individual Champion of Champions, reigning champion Roy Bennett looking to defend his title but he has stiff competition from the champions and runners up from all our affiliated leagues scratch championships from last season. The Mersey Masters will dominate the calendar until the spring while the Liverpool area qualifying stages for the North West Open will take place in February.

The MPL will also come to a conclusion in late Spring whilst the group stages for both Intermediate and Senior Inter-league competitions take place on 2nd April and 7th May respectively, with the finals for both competitions taking place on 14th May.
Merseyside’s County team will be hoping to lift the National title once again should they qualify from their group stages. They’ve had a solid start so far so fingers crossed.
We will also hope to announce more junior competitions into our calendar, im sure our kids and grandkids would welcome a cue for Christmas.

George Scotts Snooker Club will be celebrating its 40th Anniversary next year, to help celebrate this, we will be having the 2023 George Scott ProAm Cup on Tuesday 21st February, where we will have 16 professional players and 16 local players all competing for the trophy on a day which has quickly become one of the most exciting days on our snooker calendar over the last few years. Spectators are very welcome and it’s free to watch.

We would like to thank all the management and staff at Scotties for the use of their facilities over the last twelve months, and it’s been superb getting everyone back on the baize after what was a difficult eighteen months previous. A big thanks to all the players, TD’s and sponsors for their support.
In the meantime, we would like to wish all of our members, players and clubs in our affiliated leagues a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and we hope to see you all after the break.
All the Best
